2008

Children's Christmas Program: December 21st the Worship Service was built around the Children's Program. Sharon Fulton and her many assistants orchastrated a wonderful telling of the Christmas Story. The spirit of Christmas was shared by a record attendance of 97 souls.

 Holiday Dinner: December 14th was the annual holiday dinner. For pictures click here.
Business Meeting: Dec 14 was also a congregation business meeting. The 2009 budget was approved as proposed, officers elected and sustanined. A building committee was elected and leases approved.
 

 Winter Day Shelter: Since November 5th our Activity Center has been the site of the Winter Day Shelter for the Homeless. Five days a week (Monday thru Friday) from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. our facility is providing shelter and warmth to those without. Catholic Charities Northern is providing the staff, noon meal, job assistance, etc. Winter Gear for homeless persons is provided on alternate Thursdays. For more information call 970-672-8276.
Some of the volunteer staff comes from our congregation. We are blessed with a wonderful facility and privileged to be able to share it in this ministry.
   Second Sunday Social: August 10th the Second Sunday Social welcomed our new pastor with "Selebration with Sharon". This was a special night to welcome and get better acquainted with Sharon Troyer. Nancy Miller played the role of Oprah interviewing Sharon. The audience was also able to ask questions and provide Sharon with information about the congregation.

Congregation hires part time pastor:
August, 2008, Sharon Postma Troyer began serving as our half-time pastor. She is assisted by Debbie Jones as her Counselor. Sharon moved to Ft. Collins from Independence, Missouri where she was the Spirituality and Aging Minister for three years at The Groves, a large retirement center sponsored by Community of Christ.
In her new role as pastor here, Sharon coordinates worship planning, enjoys teaching and preaching ministry, is developing new areas for spiritual formation and expanding community outreach. Sharon has a passion for alleviating suffering from injustice and physical and spiritual poverty.

 
  The Annual Congregation Picnic was held on July 19th at Fossil Creek Lake Pavilion. Homemade Ice cream, rhubarb pie and traditional picnic food was enjoyed by young and old alike. Miss Q.T. Pie the clown made her second appearance at the picnic. Our new pastor, Sharon Troyer, who officially fills that role August 1st, also attended. Click here for pictures.
