The flatirons are special to me. I live at the base of these amazing mountains and I love driving west and getting to see them at different types of day and in different weather. The snow on the mountains turns them gray and the sun falling behind them creates amazing shadows. There is something solid, something unmovable, something permanent about the flatirons. They are one of the things I love about living in the RMMC.
Everywhere I go in the mission center, I find beauty. Natural beauty and the beauty of the hearts of the people I meet. I love adding to my church family by meeting someone new. Some of you read my words in the weekly updates but we have never met. Many of you I have only met once or twice. And some I know well. However we are in relationship, I am deeply grateful for your participation in Community of Christ and also in my life.
Just as those mountains are solid and grounded, so is our love for one another in community and with Christ. We create community in worship, potluck, prayer, visitation, activity, camp and so many ways. We are one in Christ Jesus and we are diverse. You bring gifts to this community that are unique and needed. If you are feeling the nudge to get more involved, we would welcome that intention!
We always need registered youth workers to help with youth programming, we are looking for people to participate in the planning of events, we often need folks who can visit the sick in hospitals, and we can always use people who are willing to keep the mission center and RMMC members in their prayers.
Let me know how you feel your ministry can best be included – I look forward to hearing from you. And please know, as I drive into the foothills from work each day I am thinking of you and praising God for the beauty of mountain and heart!

In the middle of a hot, sunny day at a dusty village well in Samaria, Jesus meets a woman. He asks her for a drink of water. “Ah;” you say, “the story of the woman at the well. I know that pretty well.” But wait, not so fast! There is a lot more to it than you might think.
The story of the nameless Samaritan woman at the well, recorded only in the Gospel of John, is a revealing one, full of many truths and powerful lessons for us today. We will explore many of them during the weekend. We’ll learn more about the author of the book of John, we’ll examine the meanings and nuances of the story, we’ll share about the story, we’ll experience the story, and we’ll live the story. Come travel with us on this extraordinary journey!

Men’s Retreat: September 16-18, Camp Paradise, Wyoming. Men, mark your calendars and save the date! Jim Smith will be directing this fun weekend camp. Stay tuned to our Weekly Updates, as specific details and schedule information for this camp is forthcoming.
Developing Disciples to Serve is an important ministry of the Mission Center. Grocery cards are available for sale to support this initiative. When you use these cards at King Soopers, City Market or Safeway, you help earn FREE MONEY for ministry. The Mission Center is selling grocery cards for $10 (they are preloaded with that amount). Every time you buy groceries, you can add funds to the card for your purchase. The stores then donate 5 percent of your purchase back to the Mission Center. It is fast, free to you, easy, and a very effective way to raise money for our ministries in the Rocky Mountain region! ***UPDATE*** In the first six months we have raised over $2750 and we expect to continue earning more the coming months! If you would like to purchase a grocery card, please contact Phyllis Modica at 303-426-5900 x-1.
