RMMC Weekly Update
November 1, 2014
From Tim Ashburn

Greetings Rocky Mountain Mission Center!

One week from today we will be in the middle of our mission center conference. We are ready and excited to greet everyone again for this annual event. First, I want to remind everyone that registrations received on Monday or after will be assessed a late fee of $20, so if you have not registered yet, please go online at www.cochristrm.org and register or leave a voicemail message at the office (800-783-6760 or 303-426-5900). We want to see you at conference and everyone you can bring with you!! (We do have limited space.)

Our encounter with the divine, each other and those yet to be our friends is the theme for the upcoming weekend. Our groundedness, our vulnerability, our moment of encounter all depends on our relationship with God. We know that blessings are abundant in our world, that God is a gracious God and abounds in grace and mercy. We have a sense that God’s personality is one of great love and caring for all of creation and that bringing reconciliation and restitution to relationships, communities and the world are what we are called to be a part of. We have faith and hope in the divine encounter and in our ability to respond in that encounter with the giftedness we have received as a part of God’s creation. We know that God is a mystery and yet can be known to a certain degree. As we approach this weekend may we do so with a sense of the magnitude of its importance, and I am not talking about the business decisions as the prime point of importance. Rather, the simple, relationship bonding and reconnection that happens when we come together. The feelings and reactions that we have when we know we have been missed or are so glad to see someone that we haven’t in a long time. These relationships and the focus on meeting the divine in our gatherings have great power and purpose. It is into loving relationships that we are called to invite, meet and journey with other people. I would ask you to pray for our conference, for the experience, for the touch of the Spirit, for the learning that is possible, for the people that will be present. Let us prepare to come together with the expectation that we will encounter God, each other and the journey ahead. Prepare to be surprised by our gathering!

Blessings,
Tim

MISSION PRAYER:
“God, where will your Spirit lead today? Help me be fully awake and ready to respond. Grant me courage to risk something new and become a blessing of your love and peace.” Amen

From our Conference Coordinator Rebecca Russell: As you know, our annual Mission Center Conference is just around the corner and the staff has been busy planning and preparing for your arrival. At this time we would like to invite you to bring a snack to share with the group during the conference, but request that you please pack all food items in either recyclable or disposable containers to simplify our cleanup process. We greatly appreciate your sharing of snacks as well as your cooperation in packaging!

If you have any registration questions or prefer to register by phone, please call Phyllis Modica at 800-783-6760 x-1. IF YOU HAVE CALLED DURING THE LAST WEEK YOU MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET THROUGH. THE OFFICE HAS HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH OUR INTERNET AND PHONE LINES OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS. PLEASE TRY AGAIN AS SOON AS YOU CAN. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS HAS CAUSED YOU.

Lastly, we have very limited table space remaining for those who wish to share a display. Please email me at your earliest convenience if you would like to request space for a display. Thank you to each of you who participate in the conference experience. We look forward to seeing you there!
